How Educational Is It?

While all toys are educational to some level, some teach kids more than others.

Learning Resources Gears! Gears! Gears! would be a great option if you want something that is more on the educational side, as it nourishes important STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). It also mixes in a bit of construction, but not as much as the Fort Magic: Fort Building & Construction Toy which helps boys combine a bit of imagination with building fun.

Other toys out there aren’t very educational, but they sure can be a lot of fun for boys!

For younger boys, the RioRand Comics Cartoon Dress Up Costumes are awesome, as is the Moluk Bilibo.

Age Range Is Important

We touched on this earlier but wanted to mention it again because it is important that you take the age range of the toy into consideration as you are shopping.

A 3-year-old might consider The Original Stomp Rocket Jr. Glow to be one of the coolest toys he owns, but if you give it to a 5-year-old who already has a similar toy, it will just end up at the bottom of the toy bin.

Age-appropriate toys are important, and if there is no age limit specified as with the last three products in our table, then use your best judgment to help you decide.

Shopping for a boy that you don’t know very well? Ask his parents or relatives what his interests are so that you avoid getting a dud.

Top 3 Best Toys for Boys Reviews

Every boy is different, so while we will be highlighting the three best toys for boys in our Review section, we realize that they might not work for “your boy”!

These are some of the most successful options out there, but if they don’t work for the young man you’re shopping for, do remember to consider the other seven options we included in our table.

1. RioRand Comics Cartoon Dress Up Costumes

What little boy doesn’t love dressing up as his favorite superhero and saving mom from the ferocious beast of the mountain (a.k.a. the family dog on the couch)?

Superheroes are a big part of many little boys’ lives, and if the young man you are shopping for is between 3 and 10, then these five superhero costumes should fit him. It is cutting it a bit close for a 3-year-old, so it might take a few months for him to grow into them, but once he does, he will love them.

Parents love that the fabric is smooth and made with environmentally-friendly dyes, and boys love dressing up as Superman, Batman or Spiderman, to name a few.

Each cape comes with the matching mask, so if you have a young superhero fanatic who would love to step into his favorite character’s shoes for a day, this is the perfect toy for him.

2. Fort Magic: Fort Building & Construction Toy Kit

Another favorite pastime of many boys is to build a fort, and with this awesome kit from Fort Magic, creating a real one just got a whole lot easier.

This kit contains 354 pieces that boys and their friends can use to create a wide variety of structures.

A toy like this nourishes many different skills, but for boys who seem to be allergic to educational toys, this is a great compromise. It allows them to be active and creative while honing in on skills related to invention, critical thinking, and spatial intelligence. All that from a fort kit!

This comes with photo instructions, and while they may seem a bit vague, kids have a fun time trying to re-create what they see in the image. It does tell you what parts you will need, so if you see that the boy is getting a little frustrated, you can always step in and help him.

Keep in mind that while you do get the structures, the fabric is not included in the kit. Don’t consider this a con, however, because most boys can use a lightweight blanket or sheet to throw over the top. Many use silk scarves because they come in different colors and they are so lightweight because if you use something too heavy, the fort will sag under the weight.

3. The Original Stomp Rocket Jr. Glow

The third toy that we highly recommend you consider is the Original Stomp Rocket Jr.

The “Glow” version means that it is glow-in-the-dark, which makes it fun for sleepovers or campouts. We love how it encourages kids to get up and move around rather than planting themselves in front of the TV or playing video games for hours on end.

It is an affordable toy that works well for as an individual gift or something that a boy can use with his friends when they come over to play. No batteries are needed – just energetic kids who want to make their rocket fly the highest!

If you want to see it in action, check out the brand’s video so you can see it in action both during the day and at night.
