6 Best Swing Sets 2020

Swinging, sliding, climbing and jumping… While we all love to see our kids playing and having a good time, it would sure be nice if they would take their games off of the living room furniture and outside into the yard when the weather is nice!

A good swing set will allow them to do exactly that, but choosing the right one takes some time, as there are many things to take into consideration before you choose.

While we can’t tell you which will be the best swing set for you and your family, we can certainly show you the top six sets in our guide below!

We make it easy for you to compare and contrast them, plus we will provide you with some useful shopping tips so that you consider all aspects before you choose one.

Things to Consider

Before you head down to read the reviews of the top three sets, here are a few important things you should take into consideration before you choose one.

  • Material, Temperature and Location. Remember that metal structures can tend to get quite hot in the sun, as can plastic, so keep this in mind as you compare and contrast sets.

Ideally, you should place the swing set in the shade, but if there were no shade available in the location that you’d like to place it, we’d recommend that you choose a wood set.

  • Age of Children. Make sure that you find an age-appropriate set based on the children who will be playing on it.

While it’s important to find the safest set possible, remember that toddlers will outgrow toddler sets quickly. In fact, we didn’t include any of them below because of this very reason!

Usually it’s best to invest in a swing set when you know that your child/children will get more use out of it.

Top 3 Best Swing Set Reviews

1. Lifetime 90143 Monkey Bar Adventure

Lifetime is an excellent manufacturer of swing sets and this one is definitely the best swing set on our list!

It’s made of a solid, all-weather resistant material that will not splinter, crack, rot or warp like wood sets, it is UV resistant (meaning that it will maintain its color), and the swings have soft rubber grips covering the chains so that kids won’t pinch their hands as they swing.

What It Includes:

  • 3 belt swings
  • 1 trapeze bar with rings
  • 9-foot wavy slide
  • Fireman’s Pole
  • Monkey bars

The packaging is quite organized, which makes assembly quite easy and straightforward. Both parents and kids just love this set!

Families gladly invest money in this swing set because it is safe, sturdy and durable. Sure, you could opt for something a little less expensive, but if you know that the set will be used on a regular basis and for quite a few years, it is definitely worth every penny!

2. Outward Play Burke Steel A-Frame

If you’re looking for a smaller set and want to spend much less, then this is a great alternative to the Lifetime set we just looked at.

What It Includes:

  • 1 Swing
  • Teeter Totter
  • Stairs

With this set, the frame is made of steel and both the swing and teeter-totter seats are made from plastic. The swing is suspended by two ropes, which isn’t a problem, but you’ll have to be careful about bigger kids sitting on it since it’s not as sturdy as chains.

The set itself is great, especially for younger users, but parents have found that the assembly instructions are in need of some improvement. If you have excellent intuition when it comes to DIY projects, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Great for smaller yards!

3. Swing-N-Slide PB 8330 Orbiter Wood Complete

This set is made from a unique material called WoodGuard. Inside, it has a solid wood core that is covered in plastic. This combines the strength of wood without the splinters or warping. It is quite weather-resistant as well

What It Includes:

  • 2 swings
  • Trapeze bar with rings

As you can see, it is quite basic, but it meets and/or exceeds ASTM safety standards and has a total weight capacity of 345 pounds. This is recommended for children from 3-10 years old.

Parents found it quite simple and straightforward to set up, although you should double check that all the parts arrive since some sets have arrived with missing parts.

It’s a very sturdy set and if you don’t have room for a larger one, this one won’t disappoint!
